Kaushik Barua is currently based in Rome, where he works with an international development agency. Kaushik has worked on rural development projects in West Africa and South Asia. He has written commentary articles for The Guardian and The Indian Express, as well as literary pieces for Pyrta, Kritya and India Currents. He studied economics at St. Stephen's College, Delhi and political economy at the London School of Economics. He is currently working on his second novel.
Kaushik's first novel Windhorse will be published by HarperCollins India in late 2012. Windhorse is based on the Tibetan resistance movement and is set in Tibet, India and Nepal.
